CRITERIA FOR COMPILATION OF JUDGING LIST 2007–2008

All judges wishing to be included on the British Bullmastiff League’s judging list MUST submit their C.V before being considered.

Any judge that does NOT follow up their agreement with a written critique will be removed from the List.

The A1 List

To be approved by the Kennel Club to award CCs, to have completed their first appointment and to have the support of the Breed Council.

The A2 List

For persons who fulfil all the requirements for the A3 List and have been assessed in accordance with KC requirements and accepted by the KC for inclusion on to an A2 List. They must also have the support of the Breed Council. Where the Kennel Club has a reciprocal agreement with other countries if a judge has been approved in the stated country then the KC will accept the approval.

A3 Breed Specialist

Requirements include:

  1. Minimum of 7 years judging experience in the breed and to have the support of the Breed Council.
  2. To have judged at least one Club Show.
  3. To have judged 100 Bullmastiffs in the UK.
  4. To have attended the relevant seminars including: The requirements of a Dog Show judge given by a KC accredited trainer, Conformation & Movement (plus hands on assessment) by a KC accredited trainer and to have passed the examination.
  5. To have attended at least one Breed Specific seminar run in accordance with the relevant KC Code of Best Practice and to have passed the examination and/or assessment where applicable.
  6. To have stewarded at 12 shows, one to be at Breed Club Show plus one Championship Show.
  7. To have bred and/ or owned a minimum of 3 dogs when obtained first Stud book entry (save in exceptional circumstances).

A3 Non- Specialist

Requirements include:

  1. Minimum of 7 years judging experience in any one breed, to include 5 years in this breed, and to have the support of the Breed Council.
  2. To have judged one Club Show (judging both Dogs & Bitches, single breed sex judging will count as ½ show) and to have the support of that Club.
  3. To have awarded CCs in at least one other breed, from any group.
  4. To have judged 100 Bullmastiffs in the UK.
  5. To have attended at least one Breed Specific seminar run in accordance with the relevant KC Code of Best Practice and to have passed the examination and/or assessment where applicable.
  6. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs when obtained first Stud Book entry (save in exceptional circumstances).

B LIST Breed Specialist

  1. To have 5 years experience owning and exhibiting this Breed and to have the support of a Breed Club.
  2. To have judged 16 classes of this breed and a minimum of 30 dogs.
  3. To have attended at least one Breed Specific seminar.

B LIST Non- Specialist

  1. To have a minimum of 5 years judging experience in any one breed and to have the support of at LEAST one Breed Club.
  2. To have judged a minimum of 12 classes and at least 30 dogs of this breed at Open Show Level.
  3. Group judges (at CC level) will be looked at individually.
  4. To have attended at least one Breed Specific Seminar.

C LIST Breed Specialist

  1. To have 5 years experience owning and exhibiting this breed and to have the support of the Breed Club.

C LIST Non- Specialist

  1. To have shown an interest in the breed and to have the support of a Breed Club.
